I couldnt do q12 at all and only did the first part of 11 but had a go at the rest of the questions. I think it was pretty hard tbh so hopefully grade boundaries are like last year

Yeah I managed to have a go at all of them but the last few questions were way trickier than the rest of the paper

what did people get for the wires question?

I thought it was okay compared to last years. Dropped some points due to time trouble though.

Does anyone know how to do Q12 though? I wrote the formula for polar integration and left it

Q12 required the use of polar integration and then the differentiation of the area with respect to k.

Time was a really big issue for me this paper which is the main reason i couldn't have a proper go at the last two. I didn't even know where to start on the last one but hopefully pure core 2 is more straightforward

what did you get? i had a cubic in terms of k but got negative values

what did people get for the wires question?

I got that it fails test 1 (just distance between 2 lines) and can pass test 2 choosing lambda > two point something I forgot my exact number

Reply 9

maybe a google doc for answers?

I got a distance of 8.03 hence >5 passing first test, 2nd test was no

Did anyone get cube root 50 for last question?

i got that it passed test 1, i worked out the shortest distance between the lines to be around 8 which is bigger than 5 (so passed)
