The Student Room Group

struggling to find accommodation for second year

I have applied through my university, although I have an application no rooms are available. This is really making me worry that I won't find any accommodation for september start. I was looking into private accommodation too but prices are super expensive in London. Not too sure what to do..

EDIT: thank you for the responses, i was able to find accommodation which fits my budget

How stressful!

Some ideas:

Private student accommodation providers (Unite students, dwell, Downing students).

Living outside London.

Reaching out to family/friends with London connections.

Search the Internet for share and care (you live with an elderly person in their home for low rent and in return you do dome light caring and keep them company).

Ask university accommodation team for advice.

Good luck!

Hi, what location are you looking to stay in? Which university are you in? You can go for a private studio at dual occupancy, that way you can share your rent and usually it's cheaper than even a twin room. Let me know if you need help, DM me. I have some suggestions.
