trying to write an adaptable 40 marker for english lang tomorrow (please help)

so basically, i'm trying to write out an adaptable story/creative piece for the 40 marker, but im struggling on settling on a concept that can be altered to many different themes. it's kind of stressing me out- because i really struggle with organising my thoughts when it comes to creative writing, so does anyone have any ideas of what i could write about?? i have like one that i kind of think would work, but i'm interested to see if anyone else has some better ones 💀

for the 40 marker you can write about anything. you could write the worst story ever and still get full marks on the paper, you just need to use the DARFORREST techniques and add in a range of vocab with short, compound, complex, compound-complex sentences.
I wrote about some kid seeing his dead dad in a school trip and got 35/40 and the story was dead.

wait that helps a lot, but what the heck are the DARFORREST techniques 💀 also, based on what you said, could i write about someone who lost their sight for 100 days or something (someone recommended that lol)

edit: oh wait, are the darforrest techniques like alliteration, emotive language, etc. or...?

I dont use daforrest but most schools learn that way. I use SOAPAMS: simile, onomatopoeia, alliteration, personification, adjectives/anaphora, metaphor, senses. I also slap on pathetic fallacy and show not tell.
Yes you could write about someone who goes blind for 100 days but it would be easier to recycle and old story. i did the same story for all my mocks and my teacher didn't have a problem and it not like the examiner is gna have all your past mocks so cook breh cook.

right okay thanks for this- do u think could i base my story on an already existing story...or would that be like plagiarism? i don't want to copy the exact plot, but i did something similar in my mocks where i took some stuff from a short film's storyline and my teacher gave me 30/40 because i should have tried something more "original" (but at the time i was so stumped and i COOKED on that essay so im still annoyed about the 30/40) 💀
