aqa gcse english lang paper 1 tomorrow

i'm so nervous for tomorrow! i usually get pretty high grades in language (8/9) but i'm so scared that was all a fluke and i'll absolutely bomb it. has anyone got any last-minute advice? or is anyone else as scared as me haha

not feeling nervous at all but remember to talk about conflict, tone and atmosphere for q3 as that is where most people lose marks

amazing thank you, i'm so awful at structure. like i said, i somehow get the marks, i'm just hoping for a nice examiner! i'm glad you're feeling so confident, it sounds like you'll do great - good luck!

does anyone know what questions to start of with because i hear alot of people saying to start to with q5 in order to save time and some people are saying that you should start with q1,q2,q3,q4

i like to work through it in order, so 1,2,3,4,5, but i halve my time (about 52/53 minutes for normal aqa english, and about 65/66 minutes for extra time), and make sure i spend that much on question five. if i have extra time after, which i usually do, then i can go back to 1,2,3 or 4 and fill in any gaps. as question 5 is worth half the marks, don't give it any less time. good luck!

for structure, i like to do three paragraphs - one about the beginning, middle, and then end. talk about how the writer "constructs" things, and "shifts your focus". honestly just say what happens at each point in the extract, like a story mountain. hope this helps (at least somewhat), and good luck!
