Equivalency Testing

Hello,
I am nearing the end of my Maths equivalency course with Equivalency Testing to enable me to start my PGCE in September.
When I attended the university open day to enquire about the PGCE I was told as I don’t have my maths GCSE I would be required to do an equivalency exam and the university recommended Equivalency Testing as a provider.
The course material has been poor, I’ve not received feedback on my homework and when finally able to reach someone on the phone to query this I was basically told I either don’t complain and sit the exam or complain but as a result they won’t allow me to sit the exam.
Passing the exam is essential to get my place on the PGCE but am worried given the service so far that I won’t get my results back from the exam or something else will happen. I have read numerous reviews of people saying they had to wait weeks and when they asked for their results their calls were ignored etc.
Can anybody else shed any light on their experience with Equivalency Testing please?

HiI am currently having a very similar experience with this company. I am getting ready to do my Biology equivalency but have had no feedback in my homework, which I think is pretty poor considering I paid £260 for the service! (A lot for me when I have no job now - waiting to start my non-salaried year of SCITT). They are saying they haven’t received my work. I don’t believe them because it was all posted 1st class using the address labels they provided. If they’d not review 1 maybe, but they are saying none have been received - which is just suspicious in my opinion. They said I can email my copies to them if I make a collated PDF but I don’t know how to do this. I’m considering paying to send it all via recorded delivery but even then I think they’d find a way to get out of marking it in time now. I need to get on with the exam soon. I can never get a reply from them and they seem very unwilling to help. I think they know we need it so they don’t care about providing good customer service. Like you, I don’t want to complain at this stage because I just need to do the exam. I am thinking of recommending to my training program that they consider accepting other Equivalency agencies in future though as it is very stressful. What happened with your situation? Did you take the maths exam? How did it go?
