Why did he unadd me?

I started liking this guy in 4th grade. In 6th grade, at the end of the year, we sat next to each other in a class and became really great friends, but after the summer, we stopped talking for no reason. In 7th grade, I finally told my friends who I liked. They teased me about it and told me to tell him, so I did. My friends told him for me in December 2023, and he said he couldn't date until he was 16 but he would if he could. He also said he wouldn't mind dating me, and that I had a nice personality. I wasn't sure if he liked me or not after hearing that, but I tried to ignore it. Around February, his friends started teasing him and telling me that he likes me. His friends even pointed at me and were teasing him about it. His friends also told me, that he said if he had to choose one person to date in our school, it would be me. I also had his snap for a while, and we had a streak for about 30 days. I left him on read for a week, and he unadded me. I was really confused. His close friends still tell me he likes me, and I feel like it's a joke, but whenever my friends ask him if he does, he always says no. It is now May 2024, what should I do?
