Is there any easier way to understand how pulley systems work for year 12? I've been trying to get help but there isn't a hell of a lot available at home

Probably best to post a question youre unsure about and work it through. However, for a simple pulley (rope hanging over a pulley) with a mass/weight at each end, you can simply imagine it as a straight (horizontal) rope with one force (weight) pulling one way and the other force (weight) pulling the other way. The rope simply transmits the forces (tension) as if there was a direct coupling of the two forces.
