Funding - Cert HE/ DipHE

Is anyone able to advise please.

If you start a BA course, but leave after 1 year (as it is not for you) and are offered an exit award of a CertHe - will taking this award mean that you will not get funding for another BA degree in another subject if you decide to return to study? I am aware of the implications of previous study impacting on the number of years of support available - but does taking the interim/exit award of the CertHE affect this?

Similarly if you undertook two years and gained a DipHE.

Hi Charlie, do you know what the new subject is you're looking to study? Thanks, Jason

Not at the moment. Does the subject matter? Would it not be that if one year of funding is used that three years would be remaining?

Hi Charlie,

Every student is entitled to funding for the length of their course plus one additional year, minus any previous study. This means if you have only done 1 year on course then you should still be eligible for finance for a new course.

Thanks,
Claire
