loosing weight

Hello guys so currently I’m trying to lose weight. I started at 75 - 74 kg and now I’m like 67 / 66 kg. i have been the 65.9 the lowest but sometimes depending on the day I have to eat more. If I go outside and stuff and I go out with family i have to eat more. I just want to know if this has happened to anyone but I went down in sizes. I was size 14 in clothing and now I’m size 12 and 10, even though I don’t see a difference in my body or my belly, I don’t know if that’s normal like some people say that you are and can’t see yourself but I can see that I clearly haven’t lost any belly fat but I’ve gone down in size. The thing is I’m not loosing any face fat either and i’m insecure about my face, but like I’ve lost around 78 kg and nothing has gone in my face. My goal is 55 kg i’m also tall and over the age of 18 So I’m thinking if I’ve lost around 7 kg and haven’t seen a difference in my face. I want to see a difference when I’m 55 kg and when I’m eating sometimes chocolate I’m on the calorie deficit so it doesn’t really affect my weight loss. thanks

Are you doing any exercise at the same time as your calorie deficit diet? If you want belly fat to go try doing some exercises that target this zone. And you don’t have to eat more because you are out with family. They are probably very proud of your efforts and will respect your food choices if you go out.

20 minutes is a good start but not sufficient to make a significant difference. I’d try and do around 10,000 steps a day but if at the beginning it’s too much start at 7000 and build up. There are loads of telephone apps to help you.

Maybe you could start doing strength training? Like weights and stuff, that could help

oh really , because i loose weight with even walking 20 mintues i thought it would be enough i walk at speed 7.0 which is fast maybe after 20 mintues i should slow it down

There is no such thing as an exercise which targets belly fat. You cannot spot reduce fat, only lose it all over your body and your genetics will dictate where it comes off first, but it will eventually come off everywhere.

To the original poster... You've already noticed your clothes getting looser and you can fit into smaller ones. That's great. Apart from weight on the scale, I've always found how clothes fit to be a great indicator of weight loss. You're right that it's very hard to judge yourself by looking in the mirror until you've lost a huge amount of weight. To me, you're doing really well already. As long as the number on the scale is still going down over time, you need to stay patient and keep doing what you're doing. You'll see a difference eventually.

You are right that no diet or exercise will target belly fat but losing weight will not give a flat stomach or a healthy silhouette unless the muscles of that region are solicited so a minimum of targeted exercise would not be a bad thing.

Losing weight absolutely can give a flat stomach. What it won't give is a chiselled six pack unless you get to an unhealthy level of skinny, or as you alluded to, build the muscles in that area with strength training. I agree it's definitely not a bad thing, but not necessary if someone just wants to get a flatter stomach.

I don’t agree. You can look at a load of skinny models and those that do no exercise stand out. Their thighs don’t look tonic or their stomachs flat. Losing weight shouldn’t be purely about a number on the scales, but rather about being healthy. I’m not talking about having a six pack but having a healthy muscle / fat balance. To get this you don’t need to spend hours in the gym or even go there at all, but a minimum of exercise is a must.

I agree everyone should do some exercise. I agree that a body which is strength trained and has some muscle is far more aesthetic (and healthy). You say you've seen some skinny models without a flat stomach. I believe you, but I've seen way more normal folk with flat stomachs where it's clear from their arms and legs that they don't resistance train. There's also an element of different perceptions of "flat". People in the modern day have a warped idea of what is normal because of social media.
