Biomedical science to dental therapy and hygiene

Just wondering, is there an accelerated course for dental therapy and hygiene for graduates like they do for dentistry?

From what I can see, there are no accelerated courses for dental therapy, and all take 3 years. However you can do dental hygiene in 2 years with some universities.
I'm also a Biomedical Science graduate, did you end up applying to dental therapy?

No I didn’t. I figured the funding would be difficult as it would be my second undergrad degree.
How about you?

You can still get funding for dental hygiene because the course has an exemption. So you'll still get funding even if it's you're second degree

Hey I’m a second year student biomed currently thinking of applying to that for 2026 entry for dental therapy after my 3rd year however my A-level grades aren’t exactly top notch and I was thinking that could be an issue ???

I'm sure the entry requirements vary for different universities. And if you don't meet any of them you can do an access course to meet the requirements

Your degree should outweigh your A level grades. But email admissions at the unis you are considering and ask.
