Hi there! Teaching differs course to course, could I ask what degree subject you were interested in studying?
Accommodation is good! I think that there is a place for everyone, depending on your budget, and varies from shared bathrooms to ensuite. Compared to the rest of the UK, they are really affordable cost-wise, despite rise in cost of living. All the accommodations are a walkable distance to the university, which varies between a 5min walk to a 30ish min walk. The campus is right next to city center, so you actually don't find yourself spending money on public transport at all!
Social life is good, the Student Union holds both alcoholic and non-alcoholic socials, which include both nights out and day time events. I found that this was nice as there is something for everyone. There are loads of societies as well (200+) so there is a lot of stuff to get into 🙂 I like taking part in the Student Union a lot as its a really affordable way to have fun.
Safety has been good. Going out at night, I've never really felt unsafe. I think you do hear stories, but it was never something I experienced myself. Plus, there are loads of schemes to support the safety of students. I especially like the safe taxi scheme, where you can hail a taxi even if you're out of cash, and pay at a later date. There is a SafeZone app where you can quickly alert security if you need help on campus. This link describes all the safety schemes we have at uni, which may be helpful!

Hi there, I am glad you found Fatiha's response helpful!
I personally don't do English Literature, but Cardiff University placed 4th in the UK for research impact and 5th for research power in English Language and Literature (REF 2021), which evidences how the staff are top of their game, many of the staff continue to receive awards celebrating their excellent work. Not to mention the subject ranking among the top 100 in the world in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject (reference).
