Thoughts on the exam?

It was ok. I couldn’t solve x=10 😂 no matter how much I tried
Some difficulty on my side but not as traumatic as the pure paper. Struggled with the venn diagrams and vectors though

Definitely better than pure!

what did you guys get for the question asking about whether the speed was increasing or decreasing i think it was? and also for the last question, what was the time taken to decelerate

For the vector question the speed was 8.03ms^-1 and the angle was 060 degrees form the origin or 300 degrees if you did cast diagram.

I think the speed was increasing, but I didn’t get enough time to come back to it.

Ah I did 270+60...

Yes I think it was increasing. I tested t=8 and t=10

I put 60 + 90 = 150 because it was going southeast

Pretty good, the way they did a twist on the Venn diagram question was quite interesting. I used a quadratic to prove it as the sum of the students was 100 and then each number would be a probability which was quite nice.

I thought it was going north east but I put it going north west...

got this too

I was stumped 😂 I tried so many different version of P(AnC) with different values for A and C in case I just got it wrong. At one point it came out to like 1.8, where if it was 18 it'd be perfect 10+8 but idek what happened 😂 solved for y though without it

I’m cooked for the probability, I attempted P(AnC) and tried to find something, but the three Venn intersecting Venn diagrams was just completely new to me, never did anything of the sort in past papers.

But for the probability a load of people came out with X= 10 and Y=8

Yes so am I... I tried all of the P(A)xP(B) stuff and P(A)+P(B)-P(AnB) and just couldn't quite get to the answer. But thinking back I think I got to the answer but I got like 20 and 10 and was like ...that can't work so tried something else entirely. I've never seen that before either

Yeah those were the right values

yeah i couldn’t show x was 10 but still got y as 8 so praying i get marks for that 😭
