NCS application requirements

Hello, i have two questions for applying to NCS(Newham collegiate Sixth form)

1) When applying for NCS, will BTEC subjects be included into the best 8? I do 8 subjects, and one of them is a BTEC subject, so will it work? If it doesn't work i only have 7 subjects i can put in, which could be a problem

2) How good of a chance do i have to get into NCS with my mock results? i got 7 for bio, 9 for physics, 8 for maths, 8 for computer science, 8 for my Btec subject, 8 for both english language and literature, 8 for chemistry. I want to do A-level maths, furthermaths, chemistry and physics. How good is this for the subjects i want to do, and how much of a chance do you think i have of getting accepted?

‘BTEC courses, subjects without a substantial written examination and community languages will not be included in the best 8).’

They need a minimum of 62 points…
That means if you got all 9’s in your 7 GCSE’s. 9 x 7 = 63, you would just scrape by. The maximum score would be 9 x 8 = 72.

Just to check, your applying for 2025/26? The deadline for 2024/25 was in January to apply…

applying in 2025/2026. I also have another mock coming up, so maybe if a miracle were to occur, then i could scrape by. Also, i convinced my math teachers to start a futhermaths class, which i could put on as one of my GCSE subjects. Would have to work very hard for it though. Would it be worth it?

Have you considered other sixth forms? There is no limit to the number you can apply to.
