A-level Spanish opinions

Hi, I was just wondering what your opinions are of A-level Spanish. I was going to take English Language, Psychology and Modern History, but I am now considering Spanish too. I’m receiving an award for my GCSE Spanish, and my teacher has said that I would do well at A-level. I’m predicted a grade 7/8, and am currently enjoying doing Spanish at GCSE, so I was just wondering what your recommendations would be? Thanks!

Hello! I love the Spanish A-Level and am going to uni to continue pursuing Spanish this September. The course is way more interesting than at GSCEs because you learn about things such as traditional values, the history and culture of spanish cultures and issues such as immigration, racism and politics. Of course, this also means that the topics are more difficult to talk about and you learn more complex grammar. However, if you enjoy Spanish and think the course would be interesting for you I would highly advise that you pick it even if you decide to drop later. I would make sure that you are consistently testing your comprehension, listening, writing and speaking skills throughout sixth form though so that you have naturally advanced by the time for exams instead of having to panic practice near the end haha. The IRP is also interesting and although seems entirely impossible to conceptualise at first, is quite nice once you have it memorised. Any more questions, feel free to ask 🙂 I have also taken English Lit and History (Tudors and US 1945-80) if you have any questions about those~
