Honestly just SPAM past exam questions and do as many past papers as possible. There will be a point where you start to see patterns in the questions they ask and won't be absolutely clueless as to what the question is on about. Content is also definitely important, but PRACTICE THE Qs.

Chemistry is a really tough A level so you have to stay on top of it. If you do regular past papers you will definitely get your grades up. When I used to look at a level papers I had no idea what the question was even asking me, but constant practice is paying off. Don’t ignore content too tho…

Probably a bit late, but see this thread here:

I have gone through a few nasty questions from Edexcel IAL unit 5 that could absolutely come up on the UK spec paper 2. I would recommend attempting each question first and then looking through my solution.

How are you guys revising for the core practicals? I'm really struggling and I really need to pull through with this upcoming paper. Also can anyone please help me with 2017 paper 3 question 9 because for some reason I just can't do it and its annoying me, knowing my luck a similar question may pop and I want to know how to do it. Pease help me, thank you.

I’m just randomly offering help as I’m bored now that uni has finished for now. As such, I’m not really revising.

Back in the day, I was able to find all the core practical sheets and a chemrevise summary:

Chemrevise:https://chemrevise.files.wordpress.com/2019/03/practical-guide-edexcel.pdf

Practical sheets (craftily hidden under the dropdown titled “worksheet”): https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/qualifications/edexcel-a-levels/chemistry-2015.coursematerials.html#%2FfilterQuery=category:Pearson-UK:Category%2FTeaching-and-learning-materials

As for the exam question, I’ll take a look at it and see what help I can offer.

Q9 of June 2017 paper 3

Access the full paper here: https://qualifications.pearson.com/content/dam/pdf/A-Level/Chemistry/2015/Exam-materials/9CH0_03_que_20170627.pdf

Part (a)

Part (b)

The rest

Edit:

Just to let you know, TSR keeps ruining the format of everything inside the square brackets and keeps messing up the equilibrium constant expression in my solution to (a)(i).

Sorry about that. I have tried repeatedly to fix it.
