Sheffield med A-level requirements?

From almost every single teacher I've talked to about this subject and most unis/schools websites, they say that chemistry is a mandatory subject to apply to a med school. However, after checking the page for Sheffield's medical course it says that they accept 2 sciences (which can be biology and psychology, both of which I'm taking). Does anybody know whether I've just misunderstood what I've read or the information is slightly deceiving? Do I need to take chemistry for Sheffield med? Any responses will be appreciated, thanks ☺️

This is inaccurate; feel free to complain to your heart's content. Chemistry is mandatory for most med schools, but not all. Some med schools can take biology + 2 other A Levels. Some require both biology and chemistry. See:
https://www.themedicportal.com/application-guide/choosing-a-medical-school/what-a-levels-do-you-need-to-be-a-doctor/
According to the above, 24 med schools require Chemistry, 13 require both biology and chemistry, and 16 can accept biology + a second science.
It's strongly recommended that you do take both biology and chemistry to be eligible for all of them. Otherwise, you are narrowing your options.

If you want to use Psychology as a second "science" (I don't consider it as a hard science, but that's another topic) along with Biology, then Plymouth, Southampton, Sheffield, Kent Medway, Lancaster, Keele, Leicester, Manchester should be within your consideration.

I'm looking at the following page:
https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/2025/medicine-mbchb#entryreqs

The A Level entry requirements for this course are: AAA including Chemistry or Biology and a second science + pass in the practical element of any science A Levels taken

A Levels + a fourth Level 3 qualification
AAB including Chemistry or Biology (at grade A) and a second science + A in an EPQ (EPQ and A Levels must be taken in the same sitting to receive the alternative offer)

So you can take Chemistry or Biology as the mandatory subject, and then have psychology as your second science.
