What to do in summer at uni

Hi there,
Is anyone else staying in university over summer?
What are you going to get up to?
Any recommendations?

Hey there!

I stayed in my university town all of last summer, and am (luckily!) doing it again this year - I absolutely love it. There's so many things nearby that I want to do/see during term-time, but don't have the chance to due to classes or work commitments. Staying over summer allows me free time to explore my local area, and check out nearby towns/cities that I've never been to before.

One of my favourite things to do is to go to nearby theme parks - Kingston is only about a twenty minute bus ride from Chessington World of Adventures, and it's quite close to Thorpe Park as well - as they usually offer student tickets at a reasonable discount. Outside of that, I like to head into central London and do all the standard tourist things I haven't got the chance to yet, such as guided tours or visiting famous museums.

I also might get a part-time job - hopefully save up a bit of money for the year ahead! 😁
