Grades and clearing 2024

Hi I am applying to start an undergraduate degree in psychology in September
I need ABB for my first choice (Southampton) and this is a contextual offer. I’m concerned I’ll miss the B in one subject but am fairly confident in the other two for A* and/or A (I was predicted A*AB)
The A* would be in psych which ofc is the relevant subject and the A/A* in sociology
The lower grade would be in Physics and worst case scenario I am expecting a C - took paper 1 today and it was humbling to say the least 😢

The uni specified it does not take UCAS tariffs in the place of grades unfortunately. Does anyone reckon they’d take me with A*A*C or A*AC? Would my mitigating circumstances (distressing family issues across the whole of sixth form + medical issues) impact this?

My insurance is BBC but I have decided now that I don’t want to go there and would prefer to look through clearing instead. I know it doesn’t open till July 5th but has anyone had experience with psychology courses through clearing in recent years? What sort of unis could I get in with the above grades?

(I know clearing will not be the same from year to year but I’d just like to get an early sort-of plan in place in case things don’t work out in the way I’m hoping. Places I’m liking the look of now with definitely achievable grades are Portsmouth, Suffolk, Chichester)

Thank you ☺️

Its very natural to think you have done badly in recent exams, but you may be surprised in August and have done better than you assumed, or S'tin still accept you despite a slipped grade.

If you already know that you don't want to go to your Insurance choice, decline it now.
This saves you time on Results Day if you do need to go through Clearing.

'Early Clearing' in July is for Internationals and others with early results - and it doesn't mean that the same courses will still be available in August Clearing.

What happens if you miss your offer conditions is usually something that a university would explain at an offer holder day.
If they didn’t or you didn’t attend then call them up and ask them what happens normally for your subject
