Fun Study break ideas ??

Hi anyone got any study break ideas ? That are interesting and don’t involve my phone because if I go on my phone I end up wasting my time and sometimes just walking around isn’t enough to refresh me

Hi @Smart282,

Depending on how long my study breaks are I would either take a power nap, or watch an episode of modern family or grab a bite to eat. I think the idea is to get myself away from my study area and to immerse myself in a different area of the house - this way I'll feel more locked in and feel refreshed to get back into revision.

Hope this helps,

Hi Smart282,

When I am revising for exams, I split my revision into small chunks, and between each chunk I get up walk away from my workstation, grab a drink, and do a little mini workout session - star jumps, burpees, etc. I did this because it helped me to clear my mind and refocus ready for my next study session.

I also used to watch the football highlights from that weekend's games as they were short enough for me to not get sidetracked and get back to work ASAP.

We would love to here any further ideas, please add them below:

Hey,
I'm Haya and I'm a final year medical student.

I like to go to the gym for an hour or so to workout, it really helps get the blood pumping and keeping in shape helps stimulate the brain. Sometimes, I also put a quick dance video and I find that it’s a fun and refreshing way to exercise.

Sometimes I like to cook and I find that it’s a very efficient break as I have a break from studying and I prefer lunch 🥗 (win/win)

Best of luck,

Hey 👋 I found that going to the gym or doing a quick workout really helped me in my revision breaks, especially if I felt I'd been sat at my desk for hours! Even if it was raining I'd get a dance workout up on YouTube, even though I was rubbish at them, it just helped me loosen up again. I'd also see if any of my friends were free or wanted a break too, to grab a coffee or even just go to the shop to stock up on revision snacks! I'd also sometimes play a game on my switch as I get very distracted on my phone, so I'd just set a timer to play a quick game so I didn't feel like I was wasting too much time!

I hope that helps 😀 and good luck with your studies

Jennie
