Orthodontist didn’t tell me about side effects
My orthodontist ever mentioned any side effects or that my retainer is likely for like.
I only learned about my retainer when I asked an older friend when they finished their treatment. I have done some further research and found out about a bunch of potential side effects that they never mentioned to me. I am happy with my teeth so want to terminate it. Is this the right thing to do?

Root decay
there are others but I can’t remember them off the top of my head and I can’t remember the website it was on. It remember it was a website for orthodontists, just not sure which, Sorry I can’t give any more

when I had braces I didn't get told any of this either. Probably 1/1000 chance.
In terms of termination. Depends how long you've had braces, how long is left, and if you've done it privately.
If you've had them for ages and only have a little bit left then may as well wait it out. If it's private then got to get your money's worth.
I personally don't know anyone who's had these issues, I think it'll be fine. There's a risk with everything in life but depends on a lot of other factors whether you terminate. Ultimately your choice.
