Apprenticeships Application

In a situation where I get AAU for my A levels this year with the intention of retaking the A level with the U grade next year, if I were to apply to apprenticeships (level 4 or higher) would I be at a disadvantage?

Hi, some level 6 apprenticeships only require 2 A levels. For example, JLR (one of the most popular degree apprenticeships) only require a B and C. So having 2 As would be perfectly fine for a lot of companies. It's about just doing the research and seeing what is available.

In general, as long as you meet the requirements, grades aren't that important. It's more about your experience, your skills and your application. 2 things I'd recommend the most if you're applying for an apprenticeship:

1) Have really good work experience

2) Have a high quality CV.

If you want, I can send some links which will help with both of those things. Just let me know if you want me to send those through.

Otherwise, good luck with your apprenticeship.
