Uneven grip on dumbbells

For some reason I have an uneven grip when using dumbbells, seems to be no matter what exercise I do with them, my left hand seems to grip within the middle of the dumbbell grip handle, but my right hand seems to grip closest to the left of the handle, closest to the weights on the left, basically snug against it and sometimes squashing my pointing finger... why is this? It seems to be a natural thing and correcting it by consciously putting my right hand in the centre of the right dumbbells handle leads me to be literally unable to do a singular rep comfortably???

I'll link a mock-up image for some context of what it looks like - https://imgur.com/a/Ql4Mt4B

Do your dumbbells have the same thickness throughout the length of the handles? Some have a thicker middle with the aim of being more ergonomic.

Does this cause any problem other than you feel like you shouldn't do it? This might not be worth correcting if you're still able to hit the targeted muscles and make progress over time.

Same thickness, they are exactly the same for both of them.

Well, when I consciously try to correct it and make my right hand go in the centre of the right dumbbell, it is incredibly uncomfortable and it just doesn't feel right... what is the reason for that?
