Cifas dsar

What does the Expiry date on the CIFAS Dsar letter mean? Is that the day the cifas marker gets removed?

Yes.

You should see two dates on the DSAR: "Date recorded" and "Expiry date". They will likely be exactly 6 years apart, to the day.

Date recorded is the date the marker was added. Expiry date is the date the marker will be removed.

No I mean the date recorded and expiry date is just two years apart
Does it mean it would only last for two years

Yes.

There are different CIFAS markers which are applied for different durations.

It’s a misuse of facility marker
Yet the expiry date is just two years is there a reason for that

I haven't a clue I'm afraid. You'd have to ask CIFAS.

I don't think you can make that assumption, no.

When did you make the digital subject access request (DSAR) to obtain details of the CIFAS marker against you? It seems (from the few samples I can find online) that if the DSAR was done a while ago, then Expiry Date isn't included in the response (leaving the subject of the marker guessing as to how long it lasts). However, if the DSAR was done more recently, then the Expiry Date is include in the response.

If you did the DSAR a while ago, then it might be worth re-doing it and seeing if an Expiry Date is included this time.
