tanning 🐢

does anyone know how to get a tan? i think i am super amine to the sun. I just can’t get one at all, i went to Spain for ten days last year in august and barely got a tan it was more of a glow i can stay outside for hours and nothing. i have developed a bit of a a fake tan addiction and some days it looks better than other days I’ve gotten quite good at using it but I would love a normal tan since it’s very high maintenance to keep fake tanning i got through a bottle a month. I have the ganier idea bronze factor 30 and have tried oils and stuff please let me know what to do

I don't want to be that person but I think it's important for you to know (if you don't already, which you probably do) that tanning increases your risk of skin cancer in the future, so might not be worth doing.
Then again, I've never curled my hair with hair curlers, had any interest in smoking/vaping or had any intention in getting suntanned - I think it's more important to be safe.
But if you have considered the risks, then go ahead; I'm not here to stop you

If its a nice sunny day, do not go without SPF. With family thats had skin cancer because of lack of sunscreen use, Id rather have zero tan at all. If you had a healthy glow after ten days of spain, thats fine. A tan soon disappears anyway so its not really worth burning or getting sunstroke for it.

Have you tried sunbeds? Honestly, I can't give a load of advice, if you can't tan naturally you sort of have to use fake tan, or have you tried some tan drops, something like that, they're supposed to give you a warmer glow or something. If you just want to tan for prom then I'd say get a fake tan, I know someone who wants a tan for prom and they're going to like a proper place to get a full-body tan, so you could get it done professionally to look good for prom, but for every day, I think fake tan's your only option as you can't force your body to tan or anything

Some people just dont tan. my mum dont, she has red hair and fair skin and doesnt tan. But faking it is great way. Ive tried to fake it before and just used a light one at first and then built up so i did not look so orange and a laughing stock to family and friends.

Sorry for going off on a bit of a tangent, I was just giving other ways that I try to be healthy where other young people often just brush off the (not so minimal) risks i.e. I was relaying some other examples that might've been useful to compare tanning to

OKAY! I'm SUUUPER white lmao, i've tanned about ONCE. (and i've been in egypt and morocco for months 😂)
usually in the sun all i get is freckles, and i do dress quite modestly (no legs really. ever. no upper arms and god forbid anything below the neck 😂😂) but when i was in venice i was rowing and swimming a WHOLE LOT. I applied by spf 50 multiple times a day.... yet got an actual tan. Because I was in direct sunlight, from 8am to sundown. Basically: exposure. (but wear spf ya dont want skincancer)
