The Student Room Group

christ church fresher accom

Hi,

I'm going to be attending Christ Church next year (undergrad). I understood that almost all freshers were put in blue boar (not the most exciting but at least it's all ensuite which is why i picked the college lol) but on the offer holder day we were told by the student guide that about 1/2 of the freshers get put in meadows? is this true? does having medical needs affect where you're placed (i need an ensuite)?

Congrats!

Ask the college. The staff who deal with accommodation etc are usually helpful and informative. If you let the college know of a medical need, that can be taken into account when accommodation is allocated.

Chch student here. congrats on your offer and welcome to chch! Yes, the student guide is correct, half of the freshers are put in blue boar and half are put in meadows, and arguably meadows facilities are better than blue boar tbh. All first year rooms are ensuite so you don't need to worry about that. in later years (2nd year onwards), you will get priority in choosing rooms if you have medical needs (the medical ballot) so you'll get an ensuite room no matter what

Hi there, is it true that Humanities students get the Blue Boar and Science Students get the meadows?
Is geography considered a science or a humanities for that matter?

yeah i think for most years humanities (including geography) go to blue boar and science goes to meadows, but I've heard of exceptions, and they might have switched it around
