Why am I iceland

I was worrying abt whether people hated me and my friend said something along the lines of "no theres no reason for anyone to hate you" blah blah blah "you are literally the country iceland as a person."

And like at the time I laughed and said thanks but now that i think about it, I have no clue what they meant by that. Provided that I have no ties to Iceland whatsoever, no do I know anything about the country. Now it's been 3 weeks so it would be awkward of me to ask why. It's by far, the weirdest thing that's ever been said to me but seeing as they said a bunch of nice stuff before, I'm gonna say it was a compliment but I just don't understand the meaning behind it
Is it slang? What does it mean

Iceland is known to be the most peaceful country around- so, if you’re being compared to it then that should be a good thing. It probably just means yiu have no unfriendly ties with anyone.
