Yes, but the breaks are rather long.

Typically, you get 6 hours of lectures a week and possibly 3 hours of seminars. The rest of the week is up to you how to spend it (unless you're at Oxbridge where they have tutorials).
You should typically have 40 hours of combined studies including the above. If you are spending less than this per week, then you are likely falling behind and aren't doing things correctly.

How your week is structured depends on your degree, your year, and university. I can't tell you whether you would get any break between any 2 lectures. It's the same principle as how I can't tell you what your timetable will be like at college or school.

Hi there,

It all depends on your course and your university.

For me, sometimes I would have up to a three hour break between classes. Sometimes I would have two classes back to back, or only a thirty-minute break. It really depends, and is also dependent on the year you are in.

If you'd like a better idea of what your own university timetable could look like, I'd recommend searching for the university's 'Chat to a Student' feature on their website. Many, if not most, universities have this, and it is so useful to chat with people on the same/similar course as you!

I hope this helps,

Hey,

I'm Haya and I'm a final year medical student.

It honestly depends on your degree and your uni. Often times the breaks between classes can last anywhere from 30 mins to 3 hours.

If it is a short break, I would chill with my friends and grab lunch ,but if it is a longer break I would try to go to the gym or library to save time.

Best of luck,
Haya
Hi,

It really depends on your degree and university.

I found with my undergraduate degree (Professional Policing), that i would either have quite large gaps (3-5 hours), or rather short ones (30mins - 1hour). I don't think i ever had anything back to back. In my first and second year I had about 12-15 hours of taught content per week, and in third year i had about 10-12 hours per week. My masters is very different and only have around 4-6 hours per week of taught content, as most of it is independent learning.

Timetables do change each semester, so you may have different gaps each time your timetable changes.

Good luck,

Hi there,

You are going to have around 12 hours per week of classess and you will have them spread around the whole week. So it is quite likely that you will get breaks inbetween hours

Thank you,
Ilya
