Im a year 10 student and I've been hearing about changes in GCSE conditions. Students taking their GCSEs in 2025 will have no equation sheet for maths and physics, and the spec for a subject will completely change so there are no past papers to revise from. Can someone confirm that this is true? And what subject's spec will change?

Equation sheets were introduced as support for students taking GCSE exams during Covid and in the couple of years that followed. This was due to the disruption they faced due to the pandemic whilst studying the course.

This year (2024) is the last year yo receive this support. Exams will return to pre Covid format, which means no equation sheet.

The specification for subjects are rejigged every 5 years or so and teachers deal with this. Even if the format or paper structure changes, the questions asked do not change that much, so you will still be able to use past papers. Your teachers will also have access to sample papers from the exam board and other sources.

Try not to worry about this too much as everyone taking the exam in 2025 will be in the same boat as you. Plus, your teachers will support and guide you through all this, that is what they do.

wrong, equation sheets are confirmed given this year (atleast for edexcel and aqa) in both maths and physics

i am sure you have figured this out already given GCSE's are around the corner but equation sheets WILL be given for both of those. Edexcel and aqa are both giving equation sheets for physics, edexcel is giving every equation. edexcel maths is also giving an equation sheet.
