Student Finance Application
Hi guys,
So I applied for student finance about 5 weeks ago and I'm getting worried because of the sponsors. Sponsor 1 is my dad and he has filled out everything which is great. However, sponsor 2 is my stepmum and that is still awaiting since she refuses to fill out her details and support me - we don't have the best relationship unfortunately. I was just wondering if this means my application will be delayed or if I will not get the accurate maintenance loan since I am missing a sponsor. Should I call the SFE to let them know

Hi there,
If sponsor 2 doesn't support your application, we won't be able to award you the higher finance.

Hi Shortcake23,
Your step mother would be required to support the application if you wish to receive the income assessed element of the Maintenance Loan. If she does not want to support the application, you can request that your application is changed to receive the basic Maintenance Loan amount only.
