Best route to become a psychologist with the open university?

What would be the best way to become a clinical psychologist studying with the open university? The master degrees aren’t accredited psychology degrees so was wondering if I would be able to study that after an undergraduate degree ? And what about after the masters? Thanks

Do a BPS accredited course (either undergrad or postgrad) get at least a 2.1. then get many years of quality experience, then apply for the doctorate. Lots of people get a masters and quite a few an additional doctorate before applying, but that is not a rule.

Thank you for the advice. What experience do you recommend? So I don’t have to get a masters degree?

Nope, a lot of candidates do, but not every does. Experience wise, ideally choose areas or roles that put you in contact with Psychologists. However that is not for a lot of people, so go for roles where you can develop ideally some experience with research, some therapy skills or experience with people who are struggling with their mental health. Its not always, or often, just about the specific place or role you do but what you learn about yourself and how you reflect on people in vulnerable moments. For example my most valuable experience was volunteering in an inpatient adolescent unit as a befriender. So dont get too caught up on fancy job titles.
