Is getting a Business Degree worth it?

I am kinda in a dilemma, which major to pick. But a bit biased, towards business sides. As well as worried about what opportunities come with this degree, in comparison with a STEM degree

Think the one question you should ask yourself is = do you plan on starting your own business or do you plan on joining a company that is based in a particular sector. I have 2 uncles. Both ended up doing business but one chose to go to college and the other didn't. I also had a cousin who studied biology and another who studied food science. Both went on to work in business. The thing is a lot of people say that you don't necessarily need a business degree to do business because any other degree could lead to you doing business. A lot of people do undergrad STEM and go to business school down the line and get an MBA (top 5 most popular degree after completing a STEM degree). I feel like a STEM degree would just give you more options. Depending on which country you are planning to study at, you could even take business classes alongside your major requirements. Hope this helps!

The main reason I am considering a Business degree is because I want to start my own business/ startup. And I am planning to move in UK (If possible then permanently). Like Undergrads in Aston Uni, and after that I want to move in to London. Is it a good decision? And How is the Aston Business School tho? Like reputation wise, coz I am taking a degree to just broaden my Network, and meet new and like minded people.

Another reason is, if my business does not work out I will apply for a viable job and have a secured income.( This is like my least preferred future)

I'm actually studying business atm and I think it is worth it. Whilst there are some bits I think I could have learnt online (esp. marketing gets a bit repetitive), there have been other areas where its really helped to be in uni (like the accountancy side and management side). Also you get access to some good resources that would cost a lot outside of uni... like business reports and stuff (idk if that depends on which uni u go to tho) Ooo! Good shout about the networking! You meet loads of people who also want to set up businesses or who already have connections... we actually did a group project in class this year about synergies and had to see how our business plan could help another student. Was really fun and obviously could lead to some future business ideas!
