Minimum student loan

Hi,

I’ve just found out from SFE that I’ll only be getting the minimum Student Loan, which was partially expected as my parents income is above £60k combined. My parents have said that they’ll be willing to cover my accommodation, apart from that what other costs should I be aware of? I’ve stated that I’ll need to get a job but they’ve said they don’t want me working as they don’t want me distracted from my studies. I might end up getting a job anyway for spending money, but in my head after accommodation is paid I’m fine with everything else as I don’t really need much to survive. Is there anything I’m not considering or anything that I’m overlooking?

Thanks
I mean, accommodation (if with bills included) is the main thing & if your parents are going to pay then some other things to consider might be: phone bill (or other electronics), food shopping, online subscriptions, a bus pass if you need one, going out/ spending, books &/ equipment you might need for your course. Other than that it’s just personal use like eg you might like buying clothes or skincare etc. it just depends on person to person.

If your parents are paying your accommodation, the minimum loan will be fine to pay for food and travel, etc. Just keep an eye on your socialising spends - that's the easiest way to blow a student buget.
