Should i do chem, bio, psychology a level

Im currently doing my gcses and i take combined science(higher), i get decent grades and i do enjoy chem and bio but ive heard they're really hard and content heavy which scares me, especially as i have kids from triple asking me if i really want to. Ive never done psychology before but as a subject it seems really interesting + i think it would be good to have some sort of essay based subject along with my sciences. Any advice or knowledge about any of these subject and how u find them would really help ty

I do biology, chemistry and history. I'll be completely honest the jump from gcses to a levels is huge especially for biology and it was definitely overwhelming for me at first but after a while you get used to the workload. Biology is really interesting but its a lot of content and the mark scheme is super specific as well. I find chemistry easier to revise just because lots of the questions are repetitive/similar but be prepared for quite a bit of maths 😭. Even if you don't like maths you should be fine because most of the maths i've done is pretty straightforward and similar to gcse (like rearranging equations and converting units). Tbh most if not all a levels are content heavy but I think you should definitely it if its something you want to do.

i took triple at gcse. IG that puts me at an advantage here
The jump from gcse to alevel is pretty intense, however you should be fine if you work hard, and study regularly

i love biology. it’s so fun, and it really prepares you as it is a lot harder than gcse. You’ll get to do many dissections and microscope practicals there’s even a field trip for practical 12 in my exam board. it is true it’s difficult and the mark scheme is very specific as someone else mentioned but nothing that can’t be learned. Chemistry I don’t do as personally I think it’s harder and not as interesting.
Doing Bio and Chem may be very content heavy, you decide if you like that. If not, maybe choose Maths as it counts as a science. That’s what I did. I don’t like Maths, but it gets you where you need to be and it’s made me smarter. The road was enjoyable at least.
Psychology is cool. if you want an essay based subject go for it.

I don't think so. I did combined and in my biology class i think there's only 2 or 3 people that did triple but it doesn't matter too much because once you start the course everyone will be learning the same thing anyways so you won't be at a disadvantage.

Well, I think I'm eligible to answer this, given the fact I really like biology, chemistry, physics, and Psychology (Neuroscience actually) -- biology seems easy for me, because I read the books and understand the concepts like a play and rereading whenever I feel maybe I am forgetting something. Chemistry on the other hand require practical practice. Formulas and concepts is its core. Missing them would be great disaster. (I like chem because it gives clear picture of our surroundings and give answers to curiosity which acts as a motivation. Physics as we all know is quite big, lots of concepts (hard ones) formulas and critical problems and thinking --- which requires extensive experience in solving the problem.(Well it really is advisable to have physics knowledge as it helps you in mental processing and solving problems) . Psychology -- well I'm pretty interested in the Study in brain sciences and their effects on various activities of human physiology and health. That's gets me into Neuroscience book reading, I found some cool books and read whole books in 2 days -- only because I really am interested from not my course point of view which is necessary. So? What are you interested in? Don't need to worry just answer it.

also tysm to everyone for responded i really appreciate it so ty i think i feel more confident about choosing those subject now and ill also do some type of maths course my school offers alongside it!
I did combined science as well and I do a level biology now (aqa). I was also worried about the workload for biology because I thought I would be at a disadvantage due to not doing triple science, but I actually really enjoy biology and I get decent grades in it (Bs/As). You need to keep on top of the work right from the beginning though because there's a lot of content (this goes for all of your a levels)

i do all those exact subjects and examboards, i know you probs started already lol, but i did combined science H and i noticed that for biology, there was some topics where previous knowledge would have been useful. Other than that, they link in pretty good, and OCR chem has 20 mcq at beginning of P1, even tho most of the time u may spend working out the questions.
