Volunteering for 15-16

Hi Guys,

I wanted to do volunteering for a few hours in a charity shop in Glasgow but most shops already have volunteers and they have no space to accept any other applications. I am sure it's because of DofE, so do you guys know how do I get past this and actually get a shop where I can volunteer (Not a DofE Candidate)?
Not sure about shops, but local primary schools may be open to letting you help out with after school clubs, or local community centres or sports centres may be willing to have you. Some other things to consider may be care homes and animals shelters or catteries.

Try the Red Cross if there are any nearby if you haven’t already

You could try your local council. Most councils have a volunteering site where you can get inducted and volunteer for activities around your local area they provide references too.

You could try contacting local environmental groups or parks e.g to help with gardening. Or you could volunteer in supermarkets and primary schools.
