Work experience economics/politics - Year 11

I have been trying to find work experience to do this summer which relates to either economics or politics (unfortunately my MP has no available work experience).

Does anyone have any ideas of any places (e.g think tanks) I could apply for work experience because I would like to (hopefully) pursue an econ/politics degree? Also, when applying to universities, do they consider work experience or are other activities (i.e super curricular) more important?

It is worth mentioning that I am looking for places that offer work experiences to someone going from year 11 into year 12. Thank you for any help!
Honestly most work experience for big banks or consultancies are already filled for this summer as you are expected to apply to them months ago (like literally in October). I'm talking about J.P Morgan, HSBC, etc. You are probable better off finding local smaller firms and requesting work experience. They don't necessarily need to be politics/ econ related, but you can talk about how working there gave you insights into how economic policies can impact firms or some bs.

For Politics idk bro gl

You mentioned that your MP doesnt have placements available but what about local council aka town councils? Politics isn't my field but it might be a good place to start

Thank you for the advice. Wasn’t sure whether banking work experience would be relevant but now I see how I could talk about it!
