Yeah of course! I sat my GCSE's a few years ago but from what I remember the most important topic to revise before the exams are circle theorems as they are typically the hardest thing to remember.

On top of that, do plenty of past papers. If you run out of past papers as your teachers for practise papers. If you run out of those do the past papers again!

The most important thing with maths is repetition until a topic sticks. Some will click and others will need more work so try to identify those topics ASAP. For the exam itself, don't spend too much time on one question. Prioritise questions and topics you know you're stronger in and then come back to other questions at the end. The exam is tough on time but it also means the distribution of marks is quite nice so if there are a few questions you can't solve, don't panic! Sometimes taking more time to check an answer is more important than trying to answer an impossible question.

And most importantly, remember to check the back page of the exam! Don't make the same mistake I did! Best of luck to all your exams!

F/Maths: 9
English: 9
Comp Sci: 9
Geography: 9
Physics: 9
Chemistry: 9
Civic Stu (Government): 9
C/Craft : 9

The last two were compulsory subjects and we were limited to 9 subjects because we wrote exams for two exam boards. I would have preferred different subjects but c'est la vie.

did you not do biology?

I studied Biology but didn't do it in my exams because I had to choose between Biology and F/Maths. Since I was aiming for Engineering, F/Maths was the better option.

what exam board did you do for science, because I thought you had to do all 3 sciences? (hope you don't mind me asking btw, I'm just curious)
I got a range of grades from B-D at GCSE level, but got a first-class degree at university, so that shows GCSE grades aren't a permanent marker for potential.

It's okay. I don't mind you asking ^_^. I did the IGCSE equivalent in Nigeria. So, at my school, we wrote ours twice. First for the WAEC exam board; then, for the NECO exam board. Both exam boards had the same rules: four compulsory subjects and five you could choose.

For Science students, we had to study all three sciences throughout school. However, we didn't have to do all three in our final exams. Most Engineering students swapped Biology for Further Maths or Geography. I chose both because I was interested in Civil and Structural Engineering back then. If I had been interested in Medicine or Biomedical Engineering, I would have chosen Further Maths and Biology. With only 5 optional choices, I had to be strict with my chosen subjects.

ohhh, that makes sense, wish we could do that here lmao I'd drop biology in a heartbeat 😅
