hey, i completed the survey but i am struggling to see the the similarity between loneliness and companionship as someone can have all the friends in the world but still be lonely. loneliness is not a matter of being alone but feeling lonely as being alone and feeling lonely are two different things.

To answer your question, you are right, loneliness is different from social isolation and that's something I cover in my research. However, the first 12 questions of my questionnaire are directly taken from an offical scale mesuring the loneliss, the UCLA-8. They have been tested again and again and allow for a large understanding of loneliness.
