Getting into MSc physics programme at top universities without undergrad research

I will finish my second year of BSc. And I have zero experience on research and I have heard that the universities like imperial and Edinburgh doesn't consider an applicants who don't have any research experience at hands. What should I do? Thank you!
Will you not have a 3rd year project/dissertation...?
Speak to some academics and see if you can get involved with some?

Unfortunately, no! That's why I am worried.

You mean, I should contact a some researcher/professor working in a related field?

If so, will they even bother to reply to nobody like me?

An academic at your current uni - hopefully one working in a related area.
Academics take on research assistants and volunteers all the time. Everyone starts as a ‘nobody’. You’re not asking to take over, just be involved.
