Can you become a retail manager with a BA degree?

Hello all,
Is it possible to become a retail manager such as Tesco store manager with a BA degree like history, philosophy etc provided you have experience in management from any internships and/or work experience?
Thanks

I'm pretty confident you can become a retail manager even without a degree. A number of store clerks do get promoted to managerial roles and don't directly come from graduates.

If you are specifically referring to a management graduate scheme, then yes. Typically, they are looking for graduates in any subject, so having a BA in history, philosophy, etc. wouldn't make a difference. Having said that, it would also mean you would get a lot of competition from people.

The fact that you have experience from internships (2 week work experience is a bit short) would strengthen your application and would make you stand out from the other applicants with little to nothing to show for other than their degrees. The internship would probably add more to your CV more than anything else.
