How to do epq privatly or what is the alternative

HI, my college do not offer EPQ, how can I increase my chance to get an university offer? i am doing BTEC Extended Diploma in marketing. What courses or qualification can i do to boost my possibilities? Many thanks!

Universities are primarily interested in grades. So before you take on an additional course or qualification, take a moment to think about the impact doing so might have on your extended diploma.

Are you on track for D*D*D*? If not, then focus all your efforts into getting the best extended diploma grade you can.

Do you know what you might like to study at university? Do you have any particular universities in mind?

from personal experience, EPQ wasn’t as useful for my course, universities mostly care about grades and in terms of getting contextual offers, grades are lowered by a few grades like AAB can do down to BBB for example. I’m not sure how you can do it privately if you’re in Year 12 but my school doesn’t let people do it in Year 13 because it’s a lot alongside A-levels/BTECS. But what i can recommend is doing summer schools for universities you plan to go to. They can also give contextual offers and are more enjoyable than EPQ, you can meet new people, learn new skills, get a taste of the uni life (I did one and loved it!) compared to a 5000 essay. EPQ was useful in terms of learning how to Harvard Reference which I’ve heard is useful in university!
