E-bicycles and E-scooters in Durham?

I'm an incoming PG student and a bit worried about the commuting distance & treks to hill colleges. So I'm considering riding E-bicycles and E-scooters. Is this a valid idea in Durham? like I wonder whether many students actually do so or not. Also, I would like to know if most colleges have sheds for them.

Hiya,

In terms of the distance to the Hill colleges, it isn't really a long distance if you're based at the science site (Approx 10-15 mins walk) its just the hill aspect that people generally say can be quite tiring but you do quickly get used to it. But, there are also various buses that go all the way up the hill and will drop you off near the Hill colleges (Arriva Bus 6, PR2) and with your campus card you can get a day ticket for 1.50. But generally, students take the bus or manage the trek by walking.

I don't know much about the usage of E-Bikes or scooters but there are sheds available on campus and I do know that John Snow college has one so I'm assuming several other colleges might as well.

I hope this helps! 🙂
