Hey @lindseywalsh 🙂 We have a really strong Business School! It's really popular and for good reason IMO 🤗 I'd say employers regard the degrees highly as they have strong industry input throughout. We run the Management Development Programme (MDP) in all of the Business degrees, and employers will come in and work with students in those classes. While I was studying in the Business School employers came in and set us case studies to solve, we worked with them on interview techniques and writing our CVs for example. There's an opportunity to do an internship in your third year as part of MDP.

We rank highly for our Accounting and Finance degrees too, and students have good experiences throughout the degree (e.g. participating in a trading bootcamp). If you make the most of all the opportunities on offer you'll be in a good position once you've graduated!

There's also tons of flexibility in the degrees - you take all the business classes in first year before you specialise so you benefit from a really broad based first year which lets you change your subjects if you want to.

Hope that helps a wee bit but let me know if you've any questions!

Ah - you mention the internship.
I can’t see any degrees that offer a year in industry 🤔

We don't offer years in industry for those degrees 🙂 The internship opportunity is integrated in to the Management Development Programme in your 3rd year as part of the 'World of Work' emphasis, so students who opt to find an internship do so alongside their studies. There's more info about MDP here: https://www.strath.ac.uk/business/undergraduate/managementdevelopmentprogramme/. You can see the other options available too. I ended up working on a Vertically Integrated Project rather than an internship, and worked on launching an Entrepreneurial Starter Pack with other students in different areas of the uni.

I found internships in my summers so I could get stuck in to projects on a full time basis. I worked in the tourism sector both times, but if you wanted to work in Finance there's lots on offer in Glasgow given lots of big companies have a base here.

Hi I am not a student at Strathclyde but my niece is studying Business Management and Spanish, she has said that the university is really good and is enjoying her course, great support from academic support tutors . From a reputation point of view Strathclyde has a long standing history of being really strong on the business front and leads the way. Did you attend the open day? We did, not going to lie didn’t think they sold themselves on the humanities and business front there was a lot of focus on the sciences however from my understanding they are very strong in this area and maybe they need to reflect on this during the open days, videos and marking heavily focused on that and seem to miss a trick

hey @Traceyk66 🙂 When did you apply? Which course did you apply for? Let me know if you've not heard back yet and I can give you some contact details to help you follow up with the admissions teams if you've been waiting a while.
