Notts vs Bath

Hi I really need help deciding between going to Nottingham or Bath for Chemical Engineering. I really like both, though I'm slightly leaning towards Nottingham, but I'm not really sure about its reputation amongst employers especially in the finance industry.
Which the two would be seen as more prestigious to an employer
(in the finance)?
Can students from either university give their opinions on their experience? Or anyone else that can input, really need it!

The reputation is very very similar.

Pragmatically no difference. Nottingham probably as a slight edge in investment banking/s&t/markets due to its finance society & alumni however if you are looking at something like big-4 then it wil make very little difference.

Although if you are serious about pursuing financial services you are far better just doing a finance or econ degree and getting on the spring week bandwagon rather then engineering.

Hello @T_ataraxia!

Choosing where to study is indeed a truly difficult decision to make. The Chemical and Environmental Engineering faculty at University of Nottingham is located at University Park Campus. The campus is a really convenient place to study since It is easily accessible from different areas of the city!

In terms of the teaching experience, you will have around 20 contact hours a week in year one and two, and students are usually assessed by blend of different methods such coursework, presentations, practical activities or exams. It is also worth considering the different spaces at your disposal in order to study at your own pace. The George Green Library, which is next to the faculty, is open 24 hours a day during term time, and hence it gives students the flexibility to work in their own time. Likewise, other variables that may help you decide are matters such as your accommodation options, the cost of living, or the career services.

Socially, the university have a wide variety of societies to join, which range from sport societies all the way to course specific societies. Most of them offer non-drinking activities in parallel with drinking socials so there is something for everyone!

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask us!

Many thanks,
Abian.

I personally chose Bath, Its a lovely place bit expensive so if money isn't an issue I would 100% pick Bath it's got amazing reputation and it's placement scheme is one if the countries best.

It's definitely lower than London, but more expensive than say Nottingham Sheffield Manchester Edinburgh. Similar prices to Bristol maybe but quite a bit lower than london

What course did you do? With Bath, I was thinking that as it only has Sciences courses - as nice as it is to be around like-minded people - the people may be a bit too similar(?) or not as diverse in that regard
