marital status issue

my parents aren't legally separated but have done everything as singles for the last 12 years. What should I put on the marital status declarations form and is a mortgage and utility bills under one name suitable evidence?

Hi Charlotte,

Does the sponsor you're using to support the application, receive the single person discount of 25% or more on their most recent council tax bill?

Thanks,
Claire

I don't think it has been automatically applied to the payment and she hasn't requested it from the council

What evidence does your sponsor have to prove they're separated/single?

Thanks,
Claire

The mortgage for the my address is under one name only, and all of the bills are under one name only if that is suitable. There is also old documents for visitation schedule when I was a younger child if this is suitable?

Can I also ask what to put on the marital status form or is the evidence enough by itself?

Thanks, Charlotte

Hi Charlotte,

If the parent you've chosen for your sponsor is the same one that has their name on the Mortgage and utility bills we can take their evidence.

Thanks, Ross

Thanks Ross and Claire.

Do I have to get them to send the status form too or is that sufficient evidence?

The sponsor you're using for the application is the one who should be completing the Marital Status Declaration Form and providing the evidence. They can upload it on their account or yours, under the evidence upload option. This link shows you how here https://youtu.be/rOMx_EG5JWk

Thanks,
