changing course at the university of sheffield

Hi, i'm an offer holder for philosophy at the uni. of Sheffield and have chosen it as a firm choice. I have serious doubts over my subject choice and was wondering how it is for course changes within the university (such as availability, how hard the process is) for students.
If i was to change, i would like to go to a scientific subject like environmental science or linguistics, and I match the entry requirements for these. However, i am not totally doubtful about leaving philosophy so if i was to change i would like to be after doing the course for a bit, and I do not want too forfeit my place at Sheffield as i really liked the city and university when visiting.
Any comments will be appreciated, thanks!
