Kingston or Middlesex? MA Graphic Design

Hey. I got offers from both Uni’s for graphic design. From Middlesex it’s a postgraduate degree. It’s a graduate diploma + postgraduate degree 2 year sandwich course for Kingston. I do not have a graduation in design but I have been in the industry working for 2/3 years now. Which uni should I choose? I’m very confused as although Kingston seems better, it’s gonna cost me more than double 😅

Hello @Kos22

Congratulations on receiving an offer to study MA Graphics design at Kingston University and Middlesex University!!

I’m a current PG student at Kingston University and I can share with you my experience.

Kingston university has a great supportive system which I have found useful. One being a mentoring scheme which offers academic and personal support to students in their second and final year.

The university careers and employability department offer guidance to prepare students for the real world of work.

Kingston university has great feedbacks from students of how supportive the lecturers are. I found the lecturers helpful in giving personal and academic guidance.

The university has a PG open day which you can book to have a view of the Univerity using the link here: https://www.kingston.ac.uk/open-days/postgraduate/

Lastly, the university is accessible for those commuting and has great transport networks!

I hope you find this helpful.

Hi. Will you kindly help me with information on student support and scholarships? The money for both years at Kingston is getting quite out of my budget. Would like to know if any support is available.

Hi @Kos22

Luckily there are lots of options at Kingston! I would say the best people to contact are the finance team as they will be able to give you advice and show you options that are suited to you. Here is the best email to contact [email protected]

You could also check out these two pages, with lots of information about the options at Kingston Postgraduate scholarships - Fees and funding - Postgraduate study - Kingston University London

I hope this helps! Feel free to ask any more questions

No MA in the country is worth twice as much as another. A year is more than enough time to do some brilliant work. How many more years of debt are you going to have if you decide to do a two year course?

Two year MAs are the preserve of those with wealthy parents.
