Please Help! Can I Leave My Apprenticeship?

My work has moved me to a different role within the company although it is not what i am studying and have been for the last 2 years. I want to leave but I am planning on staying to finish my HNC and SVQ which will finish June 2025. My contract states its a 4 year apprenticeship but this will only be 3 years.

Can i leave as soon as i have my qualifications?

Hey Mate - hoping I can offer some help here.

Doing some quick research, I found some stuff regarding your question.

"If you're not enjoying it and have decided it's not what you want to do you can leave under the terms of your apprenticeship contract. I would first advise reading your contract to check if there is a notice period that you need to work before you can leave."

"Now, nobody can make an apprentice stay in the workplace, but there may be consequences to leaving early here. If employed under a contract of employment, an apprentice will likely have to pay back some of the training costs incurred by the employer if they're leaving early. Other compensation may also be sought."

I recommend that you read through your contract and contact someone to help advise you on your options. Working hard for a few years and not being able to complete your apprenticeship would not be ideal.
Hope that was helpful.
