Brunel or Lancaster

BA Design in Lancaster, BSc in Brunel.

Lancaster seems to be ranking well but Brunel seems popular, help
Hi @p0le

It's always a difficult decision when weighing up your options on which university to attend.

You're right that Brunel is a popular choice to study BSc Design, in fact The Guardian University Guide 2024 ranks Brunel design graduates top in the UK for career after 15 months, while government figures also show Brunel design graduates rank no.1 for graduate earnings in the UK. So it is well recognised when you go on to the world of work!

The course is three years long with the first two years of the degree containing a balanced blend of creative and technical subjects including mechanics, electronics and digital design. Then in your third year, you'll move on to more specialised areas and be introduced to the human-centred design process and advanced design for sustainability. You also have the option of adding a placement year in to the degree and making it a four year degree if you wish!

Have you watched this video yet? It gives a short overview of the course at Brunel and might be helpful.

In terms of Brunel itself the university is obviously only a short train ride away from central London and has a great community feel! There's loads of food places, sports clubs etc. right at your finger tips!

Hope that helps,

If you have any other questions let me know!

All the best,

Sophie
