The foundation year is intended to get you up to the level of maths you need for the degree.
And yes, they also accept GCSEs as well as the following:

A levels (any)

International Baccalaureate Diploma

Access to HE Diploma preferably related to an engineering discipline

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma preferably related to an engineering discipline

Scottish Advanced Highers

Cambridge Pre-U Principal Subjects

Welsh Baccalaureate

T Levels

Better check on the Uni's of your choice foundation year web pages and their specific requirements.

Hey there ! It's great that you are trying to figure out a way for you to study what your passionate about even with non traditional subjects.
Yes, you can still apply for the university foundation year in Engineering at DMU even if you haven't taken A-level Maths. At DMU, this program is called Engineering Year Zero. The entrance requirements are:

Five GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Mathematics.

One of the following:

Normally 56 UCAS points from at least one A-level or equivalent.

BTEC National Diploma/Extended Diploma at MPP.

Pass in the QAA Access to HE. (Note: English and Mathematics GCSEs are required as separate qualifications; equivalency is not accepted within the Access qualification.)

T Level Pass.

The purpose of this course is to help students master core skills in science, mathematics, design, and IT, and to feel confident about starting the first year of their Engineering degree. You can still do great in engineering without having done maths in A Levels , it is easier when you have the core maths skills prior to university but it is not a prerequisite with the foundation courses , everything will be taught to you. I hope this helps and feel free to ask any more questions below.
