Final year in swansea I think I just failed

tomorrow is going be be my last exam. I'm pretty sure i didn't pass the ones before. And Swansea doesn't allow resit for final years. What should i do with my life🤒

I know this is quite last minute if i took some more time studying i might not end up like this but i can't rewind time and scream at past myself to go to study.

Now I'm depressed and anxiety. Possibly have adhd or hallucination because i seriously can't focus on anything for longer than 15 minutes. And I'm poor for paying all the tuition fee and ensuits.

But honestly. What should i do with my life if i can't get a bachelor. What does it mean in work. What should i do? Should i try to argue and get a second chance? I keep receiving emails promising they can do argue and get me a second chance, but I'm sure that's gonna be more expensive
I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through such a tough time. It's important to remember that even though things seem bleak right now, there are always options and ways forward. Here are some steps you can take to navigate this difficult situation:

First, focus on your exam tomorrow. Even though it's last minute, try to prepare as best as you can, both academically and mentally. Any effort you put in now can make a difference. Practice relaxation techniques like deep breathing, meditation, or taking a short walk beforehand to help manage your anxiety and improve focus. Giving your best effort on this last exam can provide some sense of control and accomplishment.

After your exam, assess your situation. Wait until you get your results before making any major decisions. You might have done better than you think! In the meantime, talk to friends, family, or a counsellor about your feelings. They can offer support and perspective, helping you to process your emotions and think more clearly about your next steps.

If you don't pass, check your university's policies on appealing grades. Seek advice from student support services or a trusted advisor. Some universities may accept your credits, allowing you to transfer and complete your degree elsewhere. Consider vocational training or certification programs in your field of interest. Also, consider internships, apprenticeships, or entry-level positions to gain relevant experience.

Managing your mental health is crucial during this time. If you suspect you have ADHD or other mental health issues, seek professional help. Many universities offer free or low-cost counselling services. Prioritize self-care by making sure you're eating well, getting enough sleep, and taking breaks!

Consider meeting with a career counsellor to discuss your strengths, interests, and potential career paths for long-term planning. Start networking within industries you're interested in by attending events, joining online forums, and connecting with professionals on LinkedIn. Building a network can open up opportunities and provide valuable advice.

Finally, not having a bachelor's degree doesn't mean the end of your career prospects. Many successful people have taken unconventional paths to success. Stay positive, be proactive, and take it one step at a time. 😊

Hi @Anonymous #1, I hope you're doing okay. Sorry to hear you're struggling at the moment.

There's some really wise and helpful advice in the reply from @ckrart...focus on one step at time.

When you're ready, your Student Support Team in the Faculty can help...I recommend getting in touch with them to have a quick chat first, then they work out how to best support you. They're a lovely bunch and should be available during office hours Mon-Fri each week. https://www.swansea.ac.uk/campuslife/welfare/practical-advice-guidance-signposting/

If you don't feel up to reaching out to them just yet, you're welcome to send me a direct message and I can help with arrangements. We have colleagues who specifically deal with assessments and results...and they should be able to explain all eventualities.

Rest assured we help lots of students with these situations and with the right help and support, things can work out just fine. Please get in touch any time if you need help with anything else.

Best of luck with everything, Gethin (Future Students Team).
